The Society for Nature Conservation (SABUKO) is a Georgian NGO working on species and habitat conservation, environmental education and ecotourism development. SABUKO is based in Batumi, and currently has 3 full time employees, along with several project staff and over 50 international volunteers annually. A major flagship program is the Batumi Raptor Count, devoted to the study of the spectacular migration of birds of prey along the Georgian Black Sea coast. Other programs include protected area support, policy work related to environmental education, youth exchanges and Important Bird Area (IBA) management. SABUKO is currently in the process of affiliation with BirdLife International.
