The Peace Foundation is an international non-profit organization established in Tbilisi, Georgia in September 2015 after the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by all United Nations Member States is committed to improving the state of the world by maintaining the general goals of the United Nations, including peace and human rights, and accelerating the implementation of the SDGs on a national, regional and international level. The Peace Foundation's localized actions for accelerating the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the country level in Georgia are supported by the United Nation, including the UN's and the UNDP's representation in Georgia and engages as stakeholders the Government of Georgia, international organizations and diplomatic missions represented in Georgia, local civil society and youth organizations as well as media. The Government of Georgia signed on to Agenda 2030 and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in September 2015. This was followed by the SDGs nationalization process — their integration into the national strategic framework and the establishment of a system of reporting and assessing the progress in achieving each relevant goal. The Peace Foundation uses a toolbox of innovative methodologies to remove barriers to development at all levels of society, from Georgia's smallest rural and mountainous communities to its largest government bodies.
